Jacquelyn Kmetz, Esq.
Jacquelyn brings extensive experience advocating for children, students, and families throughout Michigan. Her background in education law, juvenile matters, child welfare, and family law provides a strong foundation for conducting fair, thorough, and child-centered investigations.
Before joining Abdnour Weiker, Jacquelyn operated her own law practice focused on education and criminal law and later expanded her practice to include juvenile defense and child abuse and neglect matters. She has also represented students impacted by the Flint Water Crisis and students with disabilities across multiple states, giving her broad experience navigating complex educational systems and sensitive family matters.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jacquelyn worked as a juvenile probation officer, where she developed firsthand experience working with youth and families in crisis. She also co-founded MI AECRES, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing education advocacy and representation to low-income families throughout Michigan, where she continues to serve as Executive Director.
Jacquelyn approaches every investigation with professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to conducting objective, well-supported fact-finding that helps organizations make informed decisions.
